A four-session seminar designed to support high school Sophomores and Juniors pursuing college admission

Camp College Prep combines SAT/ACT preparation, one-on-one college counseling, college essay writing, and the creation of a personal timetable to help high school students better understand and better prepare for the highly competitive college admissions process.

About Our Instructors

John Baynes

John Baynes taught English at Fairport High School and Our Lady of Mercy High School and has worked as a consultant preparing students for the PSAT/SAT/ACT for over 35 years. John was recognized as the Fairport Central Schools Phoebe Hearst Teacher of the Year and was named the University of Rochester Distinguished Teacher for Fairport Schools. John and his wife, Patricia have three children, each a National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalist and a high school valedictorian.His younger daughter graduated from Harvard University, his older daughter graduated from Harvard Law School, and his son graduated from Yale University. John currently serves on the Monroe County Legislature.

John Serafine

John Serafine, Principal at McQuaid Jesuit High School, has over 35 years of college counseling experience. A graduate of St. Lawrence University, with experience as a college athlete and college basketball coach, John has an extensive network in the college admissions field and has presented numerous workshops nationwide on early college planning. John is a recipient of the Fairport Central Schools Crystal Apple Award and is a member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors. He also serves as the Chairman of the Rochester National College Fair. John has four children. His older daughter graduated from the University of New Hampshire, his older son graduated from St. John Fisher College, his younger daughter graduated from Siena College and his younger son graduated from Hobart College. John and his wife Julie reside in Pittsford.

A $175 Deposit will hold a spot until one week prior to the session when full payment will be due.
